Get creative, have fun and learn a new skill by coming along to one of Hosted by artist and wallpaper/fabric designer, Claire Williams, you will explore the wonderful technique of wood block-printing to create an array of fabulous festive products.
In this hands on creative workshop you will be guided through the technique whilst immersed in the stunning surroundings of Holden Clough Nursery.
Claire will introduce you to the art of block printing using her pre-cut blocks and participants will have the opportunity to explore colour and pattern through printing to create a set of christmas cards, a selection of wrapping paper and finally a fabric christmas stocking. With expert guidance from Claire, you will leave with a collection of handcrafted sustainable products, perfect for gifting and wrapping. In addition you will be given a festive woodblock to continue crafting at home.
No creative experience is required - this is an accessible technique suitable for beginners and those with experience. Suitable for children 10 years plus (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
About the Host…
Claire is a wallpaper and fabric designer working for 20 years in the print and pattern industry. She has 15 years of teaching experience and hosts creative workshops for individuals, corporate clients and community focused groups.
Working from her studio in Barrowford she is passionate about connecting with communities and supporting local manufacturing in Lancashire.
