Job Type: Part-Time / 2, 3 or potentially 4 day contracts available

Our nursery features not only plants but creative workshops, gardening talks, classes, artisan markets, and a diverse array of events.
Visitors can enjoy our on-site restaurant, explore our retail areas offering homewares, pots, scarves, natural skincare, cards, books, and an extensive selection of houseplants. We are passionate about inspiring a love for gardening and sustainable living in our community.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a keen and dedicated Retail & Houseplant Specialist / Enthusiast to join our team. This role primarily focuses on supporting our retail operations, with a special emphasis on our houseplant department. The ideal candidate will have experience or an eager interest in houseplants, along with strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the retail team with daily operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and sales transactions.
Maintain the presentation and stock levels of houseplants, pots, and all products in the retail area.
Take charge of the maintenance and care schedules for all our houseplants on site.
Assist customers in selecting and caring for houseplants, providing advice and personalised recommendations.
Engage with visitors, sharing knowledge about plants, gardening, and our nursery’s offerings.
Contribute to a welcoming and inspiring environment for all visitors.
Helping with events / workshop set-ups if / when needed.
Ideally, we’d like to find someone who could host and facilitate workshops such as terrarium workshops, houseplant surgeries and online advice videos, creating engaging experiences for visitors and online followers.
Comfortable working in a garden setting and ready to assist in other teams (indoor and outdoor) if and when needed.
Desirable Qualities:
Passion for gardening, plants, and the natural world, especially houseplants.
Experience in retail, horticulture, or plant care preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability or willingness to host workshops, demonstrations and advice videos.
Creative, proactive, and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
An understanding of plant health, propagation, and maintenance is advantageous.
Experience with terrarium creation and houseplant care techniques is a plus.
Flexible, adaptable and versatile. Can do attitude.
Ability to work well in a team and / or independently.
