Join Lynne for a relaxed and creative half-day workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own pleated lampshade.
You’ll be guided through the process step by step, learning how to create those gorgeous pleats and finish your lampshade beautifully. No previous experience is necessary — just come along, enjoy the experience, and learn a technique that you can do again and again.
Fabric
You have two options:
Bring your own fabric — choose something you love that will work beautifully in your home. Cotton, jute, silk, and linen are good options.
Or choose from my selection of fabrics on the day — perfect if you’d rather arrive without having to source anything beforehand.
Once your shade is made, you can also choose to add your own personal touch with a selection of embellishments and finishing details that I’ll have available for you to choose from. You can also bring your own.
Your half-day includes:
• Step-by-step tuition and guidance
• Everything you need to make your lampshade
• Glue guns and equipment to use on the day
• A small selection of fabrics to choose from, or bring your own
• A range of embellishments can be purchased on the day. Finishing touches such as crystals, beads, pom poms and braid. You can also bring your own.
• Your beautiful handmade pleated lampshade to take home. (approx 25cm /30cm)
Whether you’re an experienced crafter or have never made a lampshade before, this is a lovely opportunity to slow down, get creative, learn a new skill and make something unique for your home.
About the host…
Lynne is a professional upholsterer and works hands-on with various fabrics, furniture, and homewares, creating made-to-measure curtains, blinds, lampshades and cushions, and upholsters sofas, dining and armchairs, footstools, and more.
Lynne’s workshops are fun, relaxed and creative, with plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice.
Above all, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of creating something well-made with your own hands, and Lynne’s passionate about helping others experience that.

Please note that this workshop is non-refundable. If you cannot attend and contact us with at least 7 days’ notice, credit for another of Lynne's workshops may be discussed.
