Join the creative duo Tony and Carl from TCHL Interiors to learn the popular technique of decoupage…
You will learn to decoupage using tissue paper on slate and fiber papers from Redesign with Prima on wood. At the end of the workshop, you will take home 4 decorated slate coasters (square or hexagonal) and a tray that's ideal to use for summer drinks in the garden.
Decoupage is a versatile technique that can be used to upcycle furniture, decorate many objects, create gifts, and more.
It comes in many forms, from delicate tissue paper and wallpaper to thicker fibers and poster prints. The art and skill is choosing and applying the correct product for your projects.
No previous experience is necessary – just come along and enjoy!
We would suggest that you wear comfortable clothing and bring your own apron if you wish, although we will have a selection of aprons to choose from just in case.
About the Host
Tony and Carl of TCHL Interiors come with a wealth of knowledge. Established in 2016, Carl has always been interior design-focused and undertook a number of commissions, which included the upcycling of clients’ pre-loved furniture. Carl is a Dulux select decorator and has been awarded Decorator of the Year, three years running for his use of the Dulux paint colour of the year.
Meanwhile, Tony, who had spent all his 48 year career in aviation, retired and opted for a change of direction in 2020 and became more involved with the company.
Opened in 2021, their first shop was aimed at the furniture upcycling environmentally friendly products. Their new showroom opened in July 2022 has enabled them to continue our expansion in the vibrant town of Rawtenstall. There they stock a range of mineral paints, varnishes, stains, and accessories enabling our clients to create that special piece.
