The wonderful Jo from Creation Station will be back at the Nursery this May half-term with some more seasonal children’s workshops…
This time, the theme is all about celebrating the importance of bees and all pollinators.
3 different workshops in one day. Do one, or join them all!
The workshops take place upstairs in the Potting Shed. Older and more independent children can be left on their own, provided an adult is on site with their mobile phone on.
Allow 40-60 minutes for each workshop.
£7.00 per child.
10.00am - 11.00am
Save the bees!
Younger artists can make a bee headdress, and older ones a model of a bee out of paper. We will decorate a biodegradable pot, plant a seed, and make a lolly stick flower with a bee to decorate it, whilst it grows
£7.00
12.00pm - 13.00pm
Clay Modelling
Learn how to model a bee hive in clay using the coil-pot technique. Create some little bees to buzz around it. Younger artists (4-6) will need support from a grown-up.
£7.00
2.00pm - 3.00pm
Indian Block Printing
Decorate a cotton tote bag with wooden Indian blocks. This is a fun printing technique that has been used for hundreds of years. The blocks include lots of flowers, bees and butterflies which you can use to create a unique design inspired by Holden Clough. Younger artists (5-7 years) will need a grown-up to help.

Meet the host of Creation Station Ribble Valley…
Jo has lived in Clitheroe for 7 years and loves being in the beautiful Ribble Valley. She is the eldest of 5 and has 3 adorable nieces and 2 gorgeous nephews plus her own furry ‘son’, Harry, who is a King Charles Spaniel.
Why she decided to run her own Creation Station...
Jo decided to run her own Creation Station because she know how life-affirming being creative is and she wanted to provide inspiration-making opportunities for children and adults, in a fun and supportive environment.
What she did before she ran her own Creation Station…
Before Creation Station, Jo was a primary school teacher for 12 years in Lancashire. Before that she worked in London for different arts organisations and museums, having studied art history at university.
What Jo loves about running her own Creation Station...
Jo enjoys being with children and learning with them. It is great to unlock their imaginations and to share different ways of expressing themselves through paint, clay and collage. Jo is looking forward to doing this with adults too.
