In December, we handed out 1000s of envelopes for our Just for January promotion…

Inside your envelope is a secret gift from us to you.

HOWEVER. You will have been told, and you’ll see on the front of it…you are not allowed to open it!

Each envelope is sealed, and you are only allowed to open it when you return to the Nursery or Café in January. If you open it before or return after January, it will be void.

For the nursery, we are offering 100’s of free plants including David Austen Roses, free flower bed design consultations with John worth £100, money off vouchers up to £50, tools, gardening masterclass places, gifts, homewares and much more!

For The Reading Room Kitchen, you must buy a meal from the main or light bites menu to receive their envelope. Their prizes include percentages of your bill, free coffees, cakes, and even some full bills paid, on them! Their full terms can be found here. Find our full terms below.

January can be a bit dull after all the festive excitement. We hope ‘Just for January’ can bring some joy into the new year, too!

The Terms & Conditions - Holden Clough Nurseries

  • One envelope per transaction, per person. In December 2025 only (after the promotion launched)

  • Envelopes must be opened on a return visit in January 2026 only, in front of or by a member of the Holden Clough team.

  • Envelopes must still be sealed in January/when you return. If they’re open/unsealed, they will not be valid.

  • No cash alternative to prizes.

  • Free gardening masterclasses are subject to availability. Must be booked at the till, by emailing kelly@holdenclough.com, or by calling 01200 447615.

  • Money vouchers must be used in one transaction. No change / cash given.

  • Allium Purple Rain plant will be homegrown / P9 size

  • Spring bulb pots exclude 2ltr Alliums

  • 1ltr perennial plants are all homegrown 1ltr pots only.

  • 3ltr perennial plants are all homegrown 3ltr pots up to £13.50

  • Tete-a-tete - are loose bulbs up to 5 per person / or a P9 size pot

  • David Austen Roses - From the selection we have in stock, up to £35

  • Trees - Up to the cost of £75

  • Auriculas - in 1ltr or P9 pots

  • Houseplants - any in stock up to £15

  • £5 off any purchase from Holden Clough or £5 off a £10 transaction and above - it will be stated on the prize card.

  • £50 Voucher - Up to £50 to spend at The Nursery. No change given or cash alternative.

  • Wax melts - choose up to 5 from the selection in stock.

  • Scarf - Choose any available, up to £22.

  • Free Garden Consultations with John Foley - Up to a 3 hour consultation with John Foley at your home / garden - subject to distance. If you live too far away or do not wish to do a garden consultation, it can be gifted to a friend or exchanged for £30 worth of homegrown plants.

  • All of our prizes are not in conjunction with The Reading Room Kitchen.
