A Beginner’s DSLR Camera & Photography Workshop

Are you new to photography? Have you just bought a DSLR camera, or have one that’s sitting collecting dust, that you’re still trying to figure out how it works, and what all those buttons do?

Bring your camera along and join this beginner’s full day DSLR photography workshop with photographer Lynne, where you’ll learn the skills, tricks and tips to take incredible photos.

Lynne will teach you all about the fundamentals of photography, and once you’re armed with your new knowledge, it’ll be time to get outside in the beautiful setting of our grounds and get creative and put the skills learnt, into practice! You’ll then gather afterwards to review your shots, and Lynne can give more pointers and advice.

How will the day look?

Morning

Lynne will teach you all about;

Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO
Understanding Exposure and the exposure triangle - how they work together, to produce an image you’ll be proud of.
Different camera modes and when to use them (Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual)
Focusing techniques
Depth of field control for portraits vs. landscapes
Using foreground and background to add depth
Perspective and angles to create interest
How to compose your subject in the best possible light and frame.
Lots of tips and tricks from a professional photographer.

About the host…

Lynnie Lemon has worked as a photographer, mainly whilst living in New Zealand & France, after a hobby turned into a passion and then a profession. She has shot many weddings in New Zealand, France and the UK. She has done headshots for performers, newborns, children & many celebration shoots, as well as running numerous nature photography walks in New Zealand and France, alike. Now she’s back in the UK, she wants to go back to teaching beginners how to take great shots, and just like she did, turn a hobby into a passion.

Lynne’s workshops are designed to be small (max 6 people) so that she can work closely with each participant.

Please bring your own camera with you and let Lynne know the make / model when booking through her site.

There will be time for a 1 hour lunch break and food / drinks are available from The Reading Room Kitchen on site. You are also more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch along too.
